We have been involved in the dog show world for 30 years. Previously from Dallas, Texas, we moved to Valencia, Spain in 1996. While in Texas we worked as professional handlers for ten years, presenting chows, Pekingese, French bulldogs, English bulldogs, cocker spaniels, pointers, sharpeis, and Gordon setters.
Our lives together began in the late 80s when we were both independently breeding and showing dogs. Our first love is for the chows, and both of us started out with the Old Cedar Creek lines. To date we have bred, owned, or handled somewhere between 50 and 100 champions, but - who’s counting?
We have shown six chows to All Breed BIS Honours. We have had ROM sires and two BOB National Specialty winners (1990 and 1994), both bitches. (Only three have won that honour in 100 years of the CCCINC.) We have taken BOB National Sweepstakes twice, Best of Opposite Sex National Specialty 1999 and, most recently, Reserve Winners Dog 2005 National Specialty. As well we have received numerous Awards of Merit.
We began to love the Pekingese breed in the early 90s, and shortly thereafter acquired a young dog, grandson of the well-known Ch. St Aubrey’s Bee’s Wing. Ch. Laranda’s Mity Miki became the foundation of our kennel and the winner of ten All Breed BIS, seven Specialty BIS, and over sixty Group Firsts. With these wins he was among the top three Pekes in the United States for three consecutive years.
Our foundation bitch came from the same kennel and is linebred on the Rosayleen line. Ch. Laranda’s Kalee of Cha Shu laid down a great base for us to work with, along with her kennel mate, Ch. Laranda’s Mity Miki of Cha Shu.
We are a small hobby kennel dedicated to breeding selectively, and always for the betterment of the breed. We now show our dogs both here in Spain and in the USA, and have gained All Breed BIS Honours for both Pekingese and chows in both countries.
